Overview

Our client, a fast-growing manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Operations for an initial 6-month contract, with potential for extension. This role is ideal for an accomplished operational leader with significant experience in production environments who can steer the team through a period of change. The objective is to drive operational excellence, rebuild team culture, and enhance quality standards, all while maintaining consistent production output.

The Role

• Lead a team of 40, including 4 shift leaders, across a 24/7 operation to ensure efficient and consistent performance.
• Focus on standardising processes, particularly improving operational consistency and quality, with the first three months dedicated to standardising keyv operations.
• Develop and train the shift leaders to improve their management capabilities or recruit high-calibre replacements where necessary.
• Oversee the production of 100+ different products, ensuring that production volumes and quality standards are consistently met across shifts
• Collaborate with the senior leadership team to co-lead the transformation of the site’s supply chain and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Identify operational challenges, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective, sustainable solutions to drive overall performance.

The Candidate

Experience:

Proven experience in senior operational leadership roles within a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideally with experience in continuous production.

Leadership:

A strong track record of rebuilding team culture, developing staff, and leading teams through change and operational improvement
Problem-solving: Demonstrable experience in diagnosing operational issues and successfully implementing sustainable solutions
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels within the organisation
Focus: Results-driven with a strong emphasis on quality, consistency, and the ability to manage large teams to deliver high standards.
