The company is renowned for their commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation in the health food sector. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead the technical and food safety function on-site.

The Role

• Lead and manage all aspects of technical compliance, food safety, and quality assurance across the site.
• Ensure products meet BRCGS, customer, and regulatory standards at all times.
• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS), including HACCP, VACCP, TACCP, and traceability systems.
• Act as the site’s main point of contact for customer audits, certification bodies, and retail compliance teams.
• Drive continuous improvement in product quality, safety, and consistency.
• Manage a small technical/QA team, providing leadership, training, and development.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, NPD, Commercial, and Supply Chain to ensure product integrity from raw material to finished goods.
• Lead technical investigations and root cause analysis for non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Support sustainability and ethical sourcing initiatives in line with brand values.

The Candidate

• Proven experience in a technical or quality leadership role within food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, and UK/EU food safety regulations.
• Experience dealing with retail customers (e.g. major multiples, independents, or e-commerce channels).
• Effective communicator with strong stakeholder and audit management skills.
• Ideally degree-qualified in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
• Passion for natural products, sustainable sourcing, or health foods is a plus.
