Overview
As the Technical Manager, you’ll lead the site’s technical and quality function, ensuring compliance with BRC, retailer audits, and customer requirements. You’ll work closely with production, NPD, and engineering teams to maintain the highest levels of food safety and product integrity.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and developing the site’s technical and quality teams.
- Maintaining and improving food safety systems (HACCP, QMS, traceability).
- Preparing for and leading external audits (BRC, retailer, and customer).
- Driving continuous improvement across high-care and high-risk manufacturing zones.
- Working with customers and suppliers to resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Supporting innovation, process improvement, and new product introductions.
The Candidate
- Strong experience in a high-care or high-risk food manufacturing environment (e.g., dairy, ready meals, chilled, bakery, or protein).
- Excellent knowledge of BRC, retailer standards, and HACCP.
- A proactive, confident communicator who enjoys being on the factory floor.
- Proven experience managing a team and driving performance.
- A passion for quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
