An established and growing branded FMCG manufacturer in Somerset is seeking a proactive and commercially aware Technical Manager to lead their technical and quality functions. With a strong reputation for innovation and premium quality products, this business is undergoing continued growth and investment.

The Role

As Technical Manager, you will be the site lead for all technical, quality, and compliance-related matters. Working closely with production, NPD, and supply chain teams, you will ensure that products meet the highest food safety and quality standards while supporting business development and customer confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all site-based technical and quality assurance activities
• Turn SALSA to BRC
• Oversee HACCP, internal audits, and supplier approvals
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in food safety and quality systems
• Support NPD and innovation projects from a technical perspective
• Be the key liaison for external auditors, customers, and regulatory bodies

The Candidate

The successful Technical Manager will have:

• Proven experience in a technical/QA management role within food or drink manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of BRC, HACCP, and retailer standards
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management
• Hands-on leadership style with a problem-solving mindset
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, agile SME environment
