Overview
A leading food business is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Consultant to spearhead the design and implementation of a robust Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process from scratch.
This is a blank slate opportunity – they need someone with the expertise and vision to build an effective S&OP structure, not just operate within an existing one.
The Role
As the Supply Chain Consultant, you will:
- Design, implement, and embed a best-in-class S&OP process from the ground up.
- Bring a clear understanding of the moving parts of S&OP – from demand planning to supply chain execution.
- Work autonomously with minimal support, reporting to a seasoned retail supply chain professional.
- Provide strategic guidance while also being hands-on in delivering operational excellence.
- Ensure the supply chain is optimised to handle the challenges of chilled and fresh food manufacturing.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in introducing and managing S&OP processes within complex supply chains.
- A strong understanding of the chilled/fresh food supply chain – or similar fast-paced, perishable goods environments.
- A problem-solving mindset – able to start from scratch and build systems that work.
- The ability to work independently with minimal support, taking ownership of the entire process.
- Experience in food manufacturing is preferred, but not essential – focus on supply chains that require high agility and responsiveness.
