Overview
This Interim Technical Manager role will play a critical part in ensuring technical compliance, strengthening systems, and developing the capability of the technical team. The successful individual will work closely with centralized technical functions, assess and improve existing processes, and coach team members to step into more senior roles, leaving a strong and sustainable technical structure in place.
The Role
As Interim Technical Manager you will:
- Provide interim leadership to the site technical function within a chilled food manufacturing operation
- Coach and mentor technical team members, developing capability and succession into senior roles
- Review, assess, and improve existing technical systems and processes
- Ensure effective implementation and alignment with centralized technical management systems
- Lead and deliver technical projects, driving continuous improvement and best practice
- Act as a key technical interface between site and central technical teams
- Maintain high standards of food safety, quality, and compliance throughout the interim period
The Candidate
The successful Interim Technical Manager candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Technical Manager (or equivalent senior technical role) within chilled food manufacturing
- A strong track record of delivering technical projects and reviewing/improving processes
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop technical teams
- Experience working within centralized technical or group-led management systems
- The ability to quickly assess situations and implement effective solutions
- Confident communication skills with the credibility to influence at site and central level
