Overview
A well-established and respected UK food manufacturer, is seeking an accomplished Interim Technical Manager to provide technical leadership during a key period. This is a hands-on role requiring strong expertise in meat products, audit management, and customer-facing technical delivery. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining compliance, strengthening quality standards, and leading the technical team to deliver best-in-class standards.
The Role
As Interim Technical Manager you will:
- Lead, develop, and motivate the site technical team to deliver high standards of food safety, legality, and quality
- Take ownership of site compliance against BRCGS standards, ensuring audit readiness at all times
- Lead and manage customer and third-party audits, including major retail and food service customers
- Devise and implement site-wide quality improvement plans, driving a culture of continuous improvement
- Review and strengthen HACCP systems, traceability, and due diligence processes
- Ensure specifications, policies, and procedures are compliant and up to date
- Provide technical guidance to senior leadership, supporting business objectives and customer requirements
The Candidate
The successful Interim Technical Manager will have:
- Significant experience within UK food manufacturing, with strong technical leadership credentials
- In-depth knowledge of meat products and associated regulatory, quality, and food safety requirements
- Proven track record of managing multiple major retail and food service customer accounts
- Strong expereince in leading and delivering successful BRCGS and customer audits
- Demonstrated ability to implement and embed quality improvement initiatives
- Confident communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
