We are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and ambitious food manufacturer based in Telford to recruit a talented Commercial Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business with a strong presence in the UK retail market, particularly within the bakery category.
Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager who has a proven track record of managing key accounts such as Lidl and Aldi, with a strong understanding of the fast-paced, high-volume bakery sector.
The Role
The Commercial Manager will take full ownership of key retail accounts, driving profitable growth while maintaining strong, strategic relationships. You will act as the main commercial contact for customers, leading negotiations, joint business planning, and promotional strategies.
This role will work closely with Procurement and NPD teams to ensure cost-effective product development, margin optimisation, and successful product launches. The ability to balance customer demands with operational capability will be critical.
The Candidate
- Managing and developing key accounts including Lidl and Aldi
- Leading commercial negotiations and annual joint business planning
- Working cross-functionally with Procurement on cost management and raw material strategy
- Partnering with NPD to deliver innovative, commercially viable bakery products
- Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and retailer strategy
- Driving sales growth and margin improvement
