About Us

At the beginning of 2024, Gilbert Gregory and Harriet Walker spotted a gap in the market.

That gap was for a specialist recruitment agency, focussed exclusively on food and drink manufacturing, which embodied the principles of speed, honesty and fun.

So Gregory Walker Associates was born, with a mission to provide the most efficient, transparent and enjoyable recruitment service on the market.

And here’s how we’re living up to that mission:

  • Providing shortlist for our clients in record time – within 48 hours for permanent roles and the same day for interim roles.
  • Maintaining clear and honest communication with candidates and clients alike at every stage of the process. Our candidates will never have to wonder where their application is up to.
  • Having friendly and straightforward conversations with everyone we deal with. Partnering with a recruitment agency can and should be an enjoyable experience.

And we’re only just getting started!

Gilbert Gregory, Managing Director

I’ve been recruiting in food and drink manufacturing since 2017. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some of the biggest names in the industry as well as some truly pioneering start-ups and challenger brands.

The best thing about what I do is playing a key part at a vital moment for people and companies. There are some events in life which are more important than changing jobs, but not many. Equally, the success and failure of a company is largely down to the people who work within it. Recruitment is important stuff.

It’s also fun. Getting to build relationships and solve problems every day is hugely rewarding. Getting to run my own agency is a dream come true. I can build a business based on the values I’ve always strived to live up to as a Recruiter: transparency, speed and creating an enjoyable service for candidates and clients alike.

I moved to London in 2022. I needed to experience living in the big smoke before it was too late, and it’s the best thing I ever did! For one thing I’m now much closer to my sister’s family and my two beautiful nieces who I see as often as possible.

I have an eclectic mix of interests. Everything from tennis (Roger Federer is a god) to history, through to stand-up comedy (I’m currently in a Nate Bargatze vibe – check him out), dancing (I have a slightly different build to Fred Astaire, but a man can dream) and karaoke (I’ve performed Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon in public 37 times).

My current goal for the next 12 months is to run the London Marathon.

I am 6 years into my career as a recruiter; I’m lucky enough to have specialised in interim and Food & Drink Manufacturing for the whole period.

Interim is a different ball game to permanent recruitment, it is faster, more chaotic (and I think far more fun – my permanent colleagues disagree with that though)! I love that I am still in contact with contractors I was working with in my first month, way back in 2018! The people I engage with every day really are the reason I still do what I do with a smile on my face.

I love working with the food industry, I’ve often bored family and friends pointing out various factories and telling them what they produce, or which retailers they supply for. Bakkavor Nantwich (garlic bread for Sainsbury’s) gets a mention every time I go back North to see my parents!

Originally from Cheshire, moving to London wasn’t always on the cards. When the opportunity arose a year ago to set up a London office, I just couldn’t turn it down! Since then, I haven’t looked back! It has enabled me to start taking running seriously again. I am hoping to take part in the London Marathon 2025 whilst also training for the Great North Run in September 2024.

I’m an avid fitness “freak” as it seems, always finding new, more time-consuming hobbies. When I’m not working or running, you’ll find me in Epsom training to go eventing with my horse Sidney.

You can take the girl out of the countryside, but you can’t take the countryside out of the girl!!

I’m not so brand new to recruitment but have been doing it for 8 months and have already worked with some big names in the industry which I’m extremely proud of. I started out as an Interim recruiter and now going into permanent, I’m loving it even more.

The best thing about recruitment for me is being able to talk to people from all different ways of life and guide them into companies, allowing me to grow relationships with clients and candidates which will last a lifetime. Even though it hasn’t been long or easy, recruitment for me is exciting. Especially when you love the people you work with.

I’ve lived in London all my life with my family and could never see myself leaving anytime soon. I’m also a football fanatic, playing football for a football team called Pantera FC with all my mates but also watching my beloved Arsenal home and away, and awaiting the day I see them lift the Premier League.

Aside from football, I love sports in general. F1, Rugby, and cricket are all events I have gone to in the past few years and you can always catch me in Moorgate Circle with my mates most weekends in the pub.

I’m new to recruitment, but so far, have been really enjoying it. In my previous role, I worked as a Project Coordinator for a small business in Lincolnshire, but looked for a new challenge having moved to London in September.

My favourite thing about working in recruitment is having the opportunity to speak to people across the country, all with different wants, needs, and experiences. Learning about people’s lives and helping them to find a new role is exactly why I got into recruitment; to build and develop relationships. Working in recruitment in the City has its perks – most notably the lunch spots, and the pubs! I’m looking forward to working with our clients, having worked more closely with candidates so far.

I’ve always wanted to live in London and finally got chance to this summer – there’s so much to do, and my girlfriend and I spend every weekend exploring. I’m a huge football fan, and moving to London should give me the opportunity to (finally!) go to a Chelsea game. If I’m not watching football then I’m playing it, having played regularly at university and whilst at school.

I recently began my career in recruitment as a whole and have just placed at the start of my 5th week, which is something that I am incredibly proud of! At Gregory Walker, I have been specialising in interim Food and Drink manufacturing and am absolutely loving it.

Interim recruitment, in my humble opinion, is more exciting and fast paced than permanent recruitment and my favourite part is the definitely the relationships that I am already building with the contractors. I’m loving getting to know them, and the industry itself, more and more and can’t wait for my relationships with the contractors to grow even stronger as the years go by. I’m a very chatty and outgoing person, so being in a role where I get to talk to people all day, find out more about them and help them find their next role is right up my street (although I often get told that my ‘indoor voice’ is non-existent!).

I was born and bread in London and absolutely adore the dynamic and vibrant atmosphere of the city, as well as the fact that there’s always a pub within 5 minutes walking distance, of course! Despite living away in Manchester for 3 years for University, I definitely believe that you can’t beat good old London and its diversity.

I try to keep very active and love unwinding after a long day of work by hitting the weights at my local gym. When I’m not striving for a new personal best in the gym, you’ll likely catch me at the bar with my friends and a bottle of Prosecco!

I am a recent university graduate and new to the recruiting industry, but I have always loved speaking with people about their passions and achievements.

The food and drink recruitment is exciting and interchangeable, I am proud to specialize in the permanent side of manufacturing. I love learning about company dynamics and how experiences shape the driving forces behind individual responses to situations. I always aspire to look at the human side of things, to recognise the emotions behind any motivations and decisions. That’s why I believe that building long lasting relationships with both clients and candidates ensures the possibilities for future growth for everyone involved.

I’m originally from the countryside in Bedfordshire but have recently moved to London to kickstart my career. In my spare time, I love to read, act, draw and spend time with my family, partner, and friends. I stay active by going to the gym and taking Bertie, my crazy dog, on walks around the park.

My goals consist of saving money for my own place, while also going on holidays when and where I can… Not entirely sure how that will work out but the thought is there.
